1 month ownership - 2006 Lexus RX 400H
By S-TONIT - July 15 - 8:23 amPurchased this car late June 06 and immediately took it on a trip. We started with 43 miles on the car and drove from Florida to the N.C. mountains. We averaged 26.3 mpg on the highway with the a/c on. In the mountains we averaged 24.6. Back in Florida, we are averaging 28.8 around town with the a/c on. It has surpassed my expectations. We traded an 04 330 awd on this vehicle and we do notice quite and improvement. Nice job Lexus!

Great Car, Disappointing Mileage - 2006 Lexus RX 400H
By Robert - June 18 - 12:40 pmThe vehicle is a delight to drive -- great acceleration, quiet, comfortable, reliable and more. The only two negatives are mileage much lower than advertised and I wish the body style was different than the RX 330.

By Pat Hale MD - May 20 - 8:06 amI have had several Lexus RX 300s and this hybrid is an improvement in every way... better mileage, comfortable, peppy, easy to use and lots of great extras...my favorites being the auto wipers and the backup camera!!! I love how quiet it is when it goes electric!

400,000 Miles and still running smooth - 2006 Lexus RX 400H
By c4neo - May 7 - 4:30 am403,069 Miles (YES you read it right 400k+)and still feels smooth/reliable/ No major issues. This is my Second Toyota/Lexus vehicle. I bought this vehicle brand new (8 miles) five years ago and use it as my primary work vehicle (commute from Chicago to Atlanta) every week. I maintained it very good, (regular service, oil change, tries everything) but still my cost of maintenance was far less compared to any other vehicles like BMW/Mercedes (I owned both earlier and had ton of issues) I changed tires 8 times till date (every 50k miles). I am planning to trade in for 2012 RX450h (yes, I will make of my current vehicle till its hit 500,000 miles - Half million, I am very confident it will g

Big Ticket Repairs - 2006 Lexus RX 400H
By michele55 - March 12 - 10:47 amLast year while far from home my RX400h stopped dead on the highway. After having it towed 145 miles and losing 3 days of vacation, Lexus replaced the computer to the hybrid system. The car was under warranty so other than a LOT of hassle, it only cost me $150 not $10,000+. Two weeks ago, I was driving in town and my car died again. Luckily I was able to get the car over to the side of the road--all the systems died. After about a week of trying to figure out what was wrong, Lexus determined it was the inverter and gratefully, even though out of warranty, the dealership replaced the part ($10K+) for free (98K miles on my Rx). My gas mileage has never been much more than 24-25mpg.

Absolutely love it! - 2006 Lexus RX 400H
By karen kline - January 23 - 9:36 amWe purchased our hybrid on 5/2/05 (ordered it last May). We absolutely love it. The interior is very modern - at first wasnt sure if I would like it - but I love it now. We also have 2 tvs for the kids - one on each headrest. We have navigation in our other Lexus so we had to have it again (it was actually a standard). There is a button on the steering wheel for voice operation - it does everything you ask it to - its a lot of fun. I mainly do all highway driving and average 25 mpg (great for a SUV)

Fuel Economy - 2006 Lexus RX 400H
By mer - January 21 - 5:20 pmPicked up my RX 400h about 3 weeks ago and I am very pleased. Overall gas mileage is 27 mpg for the first 844 miles. My usage is about 50% highway and 50% in town driving. Lowest mileage was 25.8 and highest was 29.7. The car is extremely quiet and comfortable. Build quality is excellent and the interior design very good. It has exceeded my expectations.
